Hello Dottie was born from a lifelong love of sewing, classic style, and the enduring charm of Old Hollywood. I’m a former fashion designer who once had the honor of serving briefly as a board member for the Ava Gardner Museum, with a commissioned dress displayed both there and at the North Carolina Museum of Art. After stepping away from designing to focus on my family, I’m now the proud mother of three wonderful boys—and I’ve joyfully returned to my first passion: sewing.

The name Hello Dottie is inspired by my love of polka dot prints and my admiration for the iconic Dorothy Dandridge—an Old Hollywood star whose grace and style continue to inspire me.

Each piece in this shop is handmade by me and inspired by the timeless style and playful elegance of the 1940s and 1950s. I believe accessories should feel special yet practical, nostalgic yet functional. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to be timeless, unique, and made to last.
